Alysia Greenwade

Alysia Greenwade, Writer

Alysia Greenwade was born on August 20th, in the year of 2009, in St. Louis, Missouri, to parents Javon and Cherice Greenwade. Five years later, her little brother, Levi, was born on November 7, 2014. In 2020, her little brother, Eli, was born on June 4th. She is currently a freshman at Warrenton High School in Missouri. Alysia’s favorite classes are language arts, history, and of course journalism. She likes all of these subjects because she loves reading and writing and even does it in her spare time. With this, she also enjoys listening to music, building puzzles, playing video games, eating, binge-watching tv shows and movies, and spending time with family and friends. Alysia is currently in drama club and was in the play Selfie as the character “Kaitlin.” She is also in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program that is outside of her school activities. After highschool, she plans on going to college and soon becoming a lawyer. She has never gone out of the country, but has traveled to many states including: Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, New Jersey, South and North Carolina, and of course Missouri! Once she gets older, she would love to travel the world and see all of the different cultures, hear all sorts of different languages, and eat the yummy foods each country has to offer. She does not have a job, but will most likely get one in a few years. She would also like to possibly own her own business one day. Alysia also feels as if journalism is a big part of our everyday lives and is very much important. This is because journalism gives us a lot of the news that we consume everyday. Whether it be informational and from an actual news station, another tabloid-piece talking about what fashion is “in” right now or even what celebrities are doing in their own hectic schedules they are all considered “journalism.” Another reason why she feels as if journalism is in our lives is because without it not only the regular citizens, but also the people who are in our governments and offices, would not have this info so they can then figure out what they need to do next to ensure that their own city, state, country, etc. is good. With this, journalism is also a very important field of work because lots of journalists sometimes risk their own lives just to put out information for all of us to receive and, from there, (if needed) decipher what that data means. Journalism can also take many forms, many of which as of today are usually through the media because it is most convenient for people to access. You can get media - based journalism mostly through electronics like phones, tablets, computers, or even smartwatches. Although journalism is great and all, and Alysia is thrilled to be taking the course, we will now finally go off topic. All in all, she is happy to be doing the newspaper and hopes that people enjoy it!
