Elizabeth James, is a current Senior at Warrenton High School. When she first started high school her favorite thing was the ability to do your own things with less rules. You are treated with more responsibility and freedom. In the beginning of her high school career, she was involved in Band, Choir, Track & Field, and she participated in her student council organization. Her favorite classes she would say would be history and ELA. She loved learning about other countries' historic views more of the rulers and royalty aspect of those countries. She loves to read in her spare time, along with spending time with family, working out, and hanging out with her boyfriend. Referring back to her sport, Elizabeth has done track and field for 7 years. She claims to not be the greatest athlete, but she is not in for the competition, just for the fun. She still has no clue on what she would like to do with her future. She has gone from wanting to be a lawyer to businessman, to an obstetrician. She has always strived on wanting to have a career that could make her and her family financially stable and well taken care of. As if right now, she is currently working for almost everyone’s first time job, which is Walmart. She has been an associate there for about two years now. She is looking forward to being able to get a better job that pays more and is better suited for what she wants to do in the future. She is looking forward to starting her future with her boyfriend and building a good life that supports them both. She wants to be able to travel and visit extravagant places, as long as she gets over her fear of heights. She hoped to be able to get her 2016 Chevrolet Camaro that she can cruise with. Back to her current days, she is currently working on 3 dual credit classes to help her get ahead in her college years. So far earning, about 12 credits and hopefully many more to prepare for her future. Elizabeth says it gets a little stressful when it comes to her sport, making time for the people that are important to her, her work, and keeping up with both highschool and college classes. She works on trying to balance it all while also keeping up with her health in the meantime, making sure she gets all the sleep that she needs to make it through the day. In Elizabeth’s opinion Journalism is important in informing people about others and what’s going on outside our daily lives. Being a part of journalism gives you the opportunity to branch out of your comfort zone. Learning new ways to communicate to others and improving your skills on researching. Being a journalist , she believes it is also a way of persuading with factual information that could persuade people's view on things or give them something new to learn about. It is why journalism is important, so others can learn or be persuaded to new opportunities.
